White tea is of limited production. It is the most natural of teas as it is simply withered and dried. The superior quality of this tea is recognised by its white velvet buds and as the name suggests, its infusion is pale in colour. White tea cultures are found principally in the province of Fujian. This is a tea which should be savoured calmly taking time and care in its preparation. The infusion time is between 7 and 15 minutes with a base temperature of 70°C. It is also useful to keep the teapot hot in a waterbath. Very refreshing, White tea reduces body heat and is often drunk in summer. Its subtle taste requires an experienced palate and a curiosity having first savoured Green and Oolong teas.

Originating in the chinese province of Fujian both our teas from the time of harvest are simply withered and dried, allowing them to retain their natural goodness. The velvet buds are infused between 7 and 15 minutes at 70°C to produce a light, clear infusion with a subtle flowery fragrance. Many of the inhabitants of hot countries drink tea daily in the knowledge that White Tea reduces the effects of heat. White Tea shares the same beneficial characteristics as those found in Green Tea. It reduces cholesterol and contains antioxidants that combat free radicals. It has the same rejuvenating effect as vitamin E. Vitamins and oligo-elements form the basis for a healthy diet. |
